At the end of January we returned to Barcelona for a long weekend and for Peter to run another half marathon. Plus it was nice to be somewhere warmer than London if only for a few days.
It was also a chance for us to explore Barcelona further and to wander the alleyways of the old town. We certainly managed to do a lot of walking even after the race but we also took the opportunity for a harbour cruise.
The half marathon was great race, well organised and a great atmosphere. Just the right number of competitors and it will now become an annual pilgrimage. I was really happy with my race, setting a new personal best and crossing the line with plenty of energy left in the tanks and no injuries this time.
That afternoon we explored Barcelona and probably walked another 10km but we enjoyed exploring Cassa Batllo which was designed by Gaudi and a few other sights.
So another quick trip away but well worth it and it will be a safe bet that we will be back there in January 2012.

Approaching the 10pm mark
